Hello,

My name is David Chavez (Founder, Director, & Instructor) of El Mar de Oro Ballet Folklorico. I started teaching because I have a passion and love for traditional Mexican dance. I have been dancing Folklorico since I was 15 years old; I currently am employed by the Murrieta School district and teach throughout the Murrieta schools at elementary, middle schools and high schools. With in the school district we have 3 different groups, one in a elementary school and 2 separate groups in middle schools and also have a district wide program for the High Schools. I am the current standing Director for MVUSD Ballet Folklorico Corzaon de mi Tierra which consist of Murrieta Valley High School, Vista Murrieta High School and Mesa Murrieta High School.

 I attended California State University of San Marcos and got my B.A. in Visual Performing Arts and minor in Dance. I also started a Ballet Folklorico Organization on campus, which is still active on campus. Ballet Folklorico is a beautiful representation of the Mexican culture and traditions, Come and dance and enjoy the beauties of these dances!!!
